Orthopedic Care with Dr. Kristopher Collins
Get clear, honest answers about joint replacement, fracture care, recovery, insurance, and what to expect at Collins Ortho.
Joint Replacement Questions
-
If pain limits your ability to walk, work, or sleep — and conservative treatments haven’t worked — joint replacement may be the next step. We'll guide you through all options first.
-
Anterior hip replacement uses a front-facing, muscle-sparing approach. Posterior is more traditional but still effective. Dr. Collins is trained in both and selects the best method based on your anatomy and goals.

Surgery and Recovery
-
Yes. Many hip and knee replacements can be done on an outpatient basis at Lancaster Specialty Surgery Center. Most patients go home the same day.
-
Recovery varies by patient, but most walk the same day, return to daily tasks within weeks, and resume full activity in a few months. We provide a personalized plan and therapy guidance.
